Verodial · Automatic GMT

Gold in colour.
Steel at heart.

Let's be clear from the start: this is not a solid gold watch. It's 316L stainless steel with a gold-tone finish. You get the look of a gold GMT, with a steel core that's harder and tougher than soft gold.

Pantheon Gold

Gold-tone automatic GMT watch with black dial, black 24-hour bezel with gold numerals and five-link bracelet, front view

Gold-tone case, bracelet, hands and index surrounds. Black dial and black bezel for contrast.

01 — The idea

The gold look without the gold problem

A solid gold watch costs thousands, and gold is a soft metal: it scratches and dents with daily wear, so most owners keep it for special occasions.

The Pantheon Gold takes the opposite route. The colour is a finish over stainless steel, so the case and bracelet underneath can take everyday wear. It's a gold watch you can actually wear every day.

02 — Design

Black keeps the gold in check

A watch that's gold from edge to edge can look loud. Here the dial is black and so is the 24-hour bezel, with gold numerals. The black frames the gold instead of competing with it.

The hands, the GMT hand with its arrow tip and the index surrounds are all gold-tone, with a date window at 3 o'clock.

The bracelet is a five-link design: smaller links that catch the light and drape around the wrist more closely than a three-link bracelet.

03 — Build

Steel inside, automatic inside

Under the gold-tone finish, the case and bracelet are 316L stainless steel, the same grade used across the Pantheon line.

The supplier lists the movement as a Pearl DG5833 automatic GMT with a power reserve of around 48 hours, under a sapphire crystal. It winds itself as you wear it, so there's no battery to replace.

  • 316L stainless steel core
  • Automatic GMT movement
  • Sapphire crystal
  • Five-link gold-tone bracelet

04 — Versatility

Evenings, events and a dark suit

Gold looks its best against dark tailoring, a white shirt or an all-black outfit. It's the watch for dinners, weddings and the nights you dress up.

The steel core means you don't have to save it for those nights. At 40 mm across and 14 mm thick it is a sports watch with a dressier finish.

05 — The finish

What gold-tone means

Gold-tone means the colour is applied to the surface of the steel. It isn't precious metal, and the watch has no resale value as gold. What it gives you is the colour and shine of a gold watch on a case that's built for daily use.

The supplier hasn't confirmed the exact finishing process, so we don't claim one.

06 — The value

What the price actually buys

You're not paying for gold. You're paying for an automatic GMT movement with a fourth hand, a sapphire crystal, a steel case and a five-link bracelet finished in gold-tone. The full specification is published below so you can check each part before you buy.

  • Automatic GMT movement, four hands and date
  • Black 24-hour bezel with gold numerals
  • Gold-tone 316L stainless steel case and bracelet
  • Free shipping, 30-day returns, Verodial Lifetime Guarantee

08 — Questions

Is it real gold?

No. It's 316L stainless steel with a gold-tone finish. If you're looking for a solid gold investment piece, this isn't it. If you want the look of a gold GMT for everyday wear, it is.

Will the gold colour wear off?

Like any surface finish, it can be marked by hard knocks, abrasive surfaces or harsh chemicals. Avoid scratching it against hard surfaces. Cosmetic wear isn't covered by the guarantee, so it's fair to tell you before you buy.

Will the bracelet fit my wrist?

We haven't published the bracelet length or lug width because we don't yet have a measured figure we can stand behind. If you need it before ordering, contact us.

Honest watches. Fair prices.

Verodial comes from two words: vero, meaning true, and dial, the face of a watch. That is the whole idea.

We search independent watchmakers for pieces with real specifications — automatic movements, sapphire crystal, solid steel — and bring them to you without the markup of a famous name on the dial. Every watch is chosen for what it is, not for the logo it carries.

Good design, honest materials and a fair price, delivered worldwide.
